China's Suppression of Uyghurs

Among the many ethnic minorities, the tribe that has recently become an issue is the Uyghur.

This issue is because there is an atmosphere that China is trying to suppress minorities or Uyghurs, by putting forward a single Chinese policy. There are many stories about human rights violations of the Uighurs.

The Uighurs are among the 56 officially recognized ethnic minorities by the Chinese government, mainly Turkish.

Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region is located in the northwest of China. It is home to about 11 million Uighurs in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. This region has been influenced by the Islamic world for a long time, since around the 10th century, so most Uighurs do not speak Chinese and do not consider themselves “Chinese.”

Reasons for Being Suppressed

China has now taken the lead politically and economically, with many Han Chinese living in the Western region. However, as the Uighurs moved against China’s move, the 2nd China implemented a policy of monitoring and controlling the Uighurs.

BBC News said Xinjiang Uighur is the world’s largest concentration camp because of China’s growing oppression.

Moreover, for China, which has repeatedly fought wars to influence Xinjiang’s autonomous region for hundreds of years, these Uighurs are just a hindrance, and the repression of the Uyghurs has long been ongoing.

China has destroyed more than 100 traditional Uyghurs’ graves over the past two years since 2018. It has continued suppressing them by tracking, detaining and repatriating even Uyghurs living abroad.

International human rights groups and Western camps, including the United States, have consistently raised suspicions that Chinese authorities are suppressing Uighurs and Muslim minorities in Xinjiang. However, China has consistently denied the oppression of the Chinese Poles against the Uyghurs.
