Sangsan High School, Korea's leading autonomous private high school, will be converted into a general high school from next year. Autonomous private high schools are more autonomous and developed than conventional high schools, which refer to high schools that have expanded their curricula to diversify students' school options. However, the Moon government was in the midst of a controversy as it set the abolition of self-administration and the conversion of ordinary high schools as national tasks to promote public education. In that situation, Sangsan High School was eliminated by just 0.39 points, which caused a lot of controversy. Especially, students, parents, and teachers are protesting against the recent decision by Gyeonggi Province and North Jeolla Province to cancel the designation of Sangsan High School and Dongsan High School in Ansan, rather than re-designate the school. Students and parents who have opposite opinion the cancellation of the designation are protesting against the fact that Sangsan High School has no equity in re-designating its own private school and applying 10 percent of the system for social integration.
Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Affair Movement Headquarters raised the claim that it is an "assessment for the escape" of Sangsan High School's self-accident cancellation. Under the current government, the Education Ministry raised the standard score for re-designation from 60 to 70 and presented it to the provincial and provincial education offices, with only North Jeolla Province adding 10 more points to 80 points. Another is the ratio of social care sufferers. Sangsan High School, which does not have a 10 percent mandatory ratio, claims that it is unfair to include it in the evaluation. However, Kim Seung-hwan, superintendent of the Jeollabuk-do Office of Education, said, "70 points can easily be handed over to ordinary high schools, and if Sangsan High School is a first-term private high school, it should have exceeded 80 points." The education minister also said he will do everything he can, including apply for constitutional court authority, if he does not agree to cancel the designation of Sangsan High School as a private high school.
