Unnarrowed conflict: The Ukraine- Russia War

The Russia-Ukraine War began with a Russian on February 24th,2022.

The Russia-Ukraine War has continued for over a year because Ukraine attempted to join NATO and the natural gas pipeline. In addition, Ukraine Wanted To Increase Toll Tax On Russia's Gas Supply Line To Western Europe.                                 Therefore, In September 2021, Russia built the gas pipeline called ‘Nord Stream’. But, the Nord Stream stopped when the war started. because Russia engaged in coercive and military action using natural gas.

For Russia, if Ukraine got accepted into NATO, they could get many pression. , If Ukraine joins NATO, the NATO Military Ukraine and Russia’s Military will face each other at the border of the Middle.

All of these are undesirable for Russia, so it invaded to stop these from happening. Even some Russians were against the war. Many Russian soldiers got hurt or were killed.

 According to FSB, which stands for ‘Federal Security Service’ in Russia, more than 70% of people who are from Russia, and Ukraine and suffering from the war do not support the war.

However, Russia keeps attacking Ukraine even though the people continuously say, “Stop”.

Lack of Reasons to Stop

Also, there needs to be more reasons to stop or negotiate for the end of the war. Since the Russia-Ukraine War began, both countries have negotiated five times, but every negotiation fell through.

After presenting preconditions for peace negotiations, they strongly rejected them because they didn’t trust each other.

For Ukraine, Russia is an implausible country already. In their eyes, Russia started the war and has been attacking Ukraine thoughtlessly. So they can’t believe them at all.

For Russia, not only are the funds and resources already invested wasted, but they also lose the opportunity for economic development that can arise from war.

Lack of faith

Currently, Russia and Ukraine, don’t have any faith in trusting each other. For Ukraine, Russia is an implausible country already. In their eyes, Russia started the war and has been attacking Ukraine thoughtlessly. So they can not believe them at all.

Furthermore, both of them still believe they can win this war and lack faith in each other. So, at this point, they cannot conclude any peace negotiations.
