Retro Craze in 2020

With the retro craze appearing again these days, all generations can enjoy many songs and activities together. Songs, fashion and styles popular in the 80s and 90s have been in the spotlight this year.

 

SSAK 3 Takes the Nation!

SSAK 3 brought this retro craze back. Viewers created the names for the three members. Lee Hyori, Rain, and Yoo Jaeseok have adopted the stage names Linda-G, U-dragon, and B-ryong. Lee and Rain are famous Korean singers. Yoo is one of the top emcees in Korea.

SSAK 3 was originally named ssaksseuli (싹쓸이). However, since it has only three members, it was changed to ssaksseuri (싹쓰리) using wordplay. SSAK means they will sweep the whole music chart with their awesome music. This group was made to give energy and happiness to people during this pandemic. Members in SSAK 3 are real-life celebrities.

They released their hit summer song, “Beach Again,” and made their debut on July 25^th. Linda-G wrote the lyrics, and her husband, Sang-soon Lee, composed their title song. The group made a great hit.

Regardless of sex and age, people are enjoying their music. “Beach Again” is in the top spot for music charts like Melon and Genie. Their choreography is easy to copy, so people are trying to mimic their moves. SSAK 3’s unique goods like clothes, posters, pictures, photocards and albums sold out just in a few hours. The profits from their album and goods are used in helping people who are facing difficulties financially.

All three members in SSAK 3 and director, Kim Taeho, said their success is unbelievable. They expressed their gratitude to their fans and people who enjoy their music. Many people said their synergy is from their chemistry. They swept all of Korea with their positive power.

 

Scrunchie Comeback

This hair tie is a little bit different compared to an ordinary hair tie. Scrunchie is a special hair tie that has a unique shape with a fabric surrounding the band. These features make it looks like a doughnut. It has various colors and stripes so we can have the fun of choosing which one to wear.

This is not the first time that scrunchies became famous. It was popular in the 80s and 90s. These days, many celebrities started to use scrunchies not only for convenience but also for style. There are also classes on making them. People can choose the color and design of the fabrics when making their own hair scrunchie. On YouTube, there are lots of tutorial videos. If you have time, try to make them on your own!

 

Many people welcome the retro craze, saying it brings back old memories and gives energy to them. Also, the retro craze made all the generation enjoy things together.
