Our life styles have changed a lot. Due to social distancing, many activities, whether they were indoor or outdoor, were changed. Exhibitions, concerts and performances were restricted, postponed or canceled.

However, thanks to technology, many artists and performers have an opportunity to show their work online through online exhibitions, art viewing activities or performances.

Creative Artwork with New Technology

These days when we cannot spend time outside, we can enjoy our days by watching performances and exhibitions online. By searching on the Internet, we can enjoy various online performances, exhibitions and lectures for free.

The Yangpyeong County Museum of Art held an online exhibition to allow local residents and young artists to meet in real-time to appreciate and share the greatness of creative art and life's dignity. Both groups were prepared to listen to explanations and appreciate artworks on YouTube.

An exhibition in Daegu was held online and used a 360-degree camera to showcase all of the works.

Many musicals have provided videos or even organized TV programs. Showing the live performances on TV has increased its attendance and allowed people who had no chance to watch the performances in their own time.

Explore Korean Culture Online

Korean Heritage is an exhibition that allows visitors to observe Korean cultural heritage and historical sites online. Visitors can easily observe the culture of the Korean royal family and the daily lives of Korean ancestors. The exhibition also shows the heritage and intangible cultural assets. Historical eras ranging from the Silla Kingdom to the Korean Empire can be viewed from various angles.

The online exhibition is held in cooperation with Google and eight leading museums, including the National Museum of Korea, the Gyeonggi Museum and the Korean Traditional Music Museum.

Visitors can find it on Google's platform Art and Culture, which works with cultural institutions and artists worldwide to allow visitors to enjoy beautiful culture anytime, anywhere.

Boryeong City announced that Coloring the West Sea of Boryeong Art Exhibition would be held from September 14th to the 20th online. The exhibition was designed to provide citizens with a chance to meet various genres and high-quality works. The exhibition featured 79 works by artists from nine fields: Korean paintings, Western paintings, folk paintings, literary paintings, sculptures, crafts, calligraphy, designs etc.

This exhibition was online through Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. People could enjoy it by going to the Boryeong Branch of the Korean Fine Arts Association page on YouTube.

Music Halls Reopen

Lots of music halls were closed or shut down. Recently, some of them have decided that the show must go on. The main reason for that was the artists needed to continue their livelihoods. However, they have changed how they will operate.

The Alte Oper located in Frankfurt only opened 600 seats out of 2,450 seats to comply with the social distancing regulations. Audience members must wear their masks and keep social distance by sitting in the designated seats.

Due to the regulations of social distancing, it was not easy to see different exhibitions and performances. The performing arts and fine arts industries were in a panic on how to continue. Since they held performances or displayed exhibitions online, more people could see it.

We can still see them offline if we follow the rules and guidelines.

The entertainment industry is developing new ways to survive and is not being discouraged in this bad situation. They will go further in the future.
