Sawlians learn different languages either as their major language or minor language. Usually when they are in 2nd grade, they go to a country that uses the language that they have been studying to directly learn about that culture. While they are there in those countries, they make new memories with their classmates.

Since the second-grade Sawlians could not travel abroad this year due to  COVID-19, the PRESS has recommended some travel places to go to after the pandemic is over. In the second-part of the series, we would like to recommend three places to visit in France.

1. The Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles is considered one of the most beautiful palaces. The Palace of Versailles is also known for its grand garden.

Inside the palace, you can see royal rooms and paintings documenting historical events. In this palace, there is a hall called the Hall of Mirrors. It was the most important ceremonial venue for royal weddings and interviews with foreign envoys.

2. Lyon Fine Art Museum

Most might think the Louvre Museum is the place where you can see many different forms of arts in France. However, there is a Lyon Fine Art Museum, which is less crowded and still has stunning artworks. Built as an abbey in the 17th century, this museum is charming. You can appreciate numerous works of art from the ancient Egyptian era to modern times.

3. Notre Dame Cathedral

Notre Dame Cathedral is a late French Gothic Style built for pre-Gothic generations. It was restored in the 19th century to its former state through restoration work. Unfortunately, it is currently closed to a fire that occurred in April 2019. However, it is certainly meaningful to visit this cathedral on Ile de la Cité. Just standing outside the cathedral, you will see the Seine River.
