Anyone School is a citizen-led lifelong learning platform where anyone who wants to share knowledge, talent, experience, and wisdom of life can open a class or participate in learning opportunities. SAWL also conducts this program every year for students.

Anyone School has classes for first-grade students that the second-grade teams planned, lectured and organized. First-grade students chose the course they wanted to take on the June 17th online survey. Based on the results of the submitted survey, students were attached to each class.

The program was held during the fifth and sixth periods on July 21st in pre-selected classrooms. There were various types of lectures in diverse fields such as education, media, politics, etc. A total of 36 various lectures, including media trends, metaverse, eco-friendly ESG management, cultural exploration, language typology and more.

First-grade students chose courses according to their interests or their future jobs. Also expanded their knowledge by choosing their major language and cultural experiences. Most of the lectures had a short theory class, and then they moved on to the activities.

One of the most interesting classes was Housewarming Murder Case, Investigation and Media, held by Sung Yu Jin, a second-grade Chinese major. The relationship between investigation and media and the problem of articles written by inflating the case was explained. After that, based on what was taught, activities were conducted to investigate and infer murder cases in a set space. After the activity, the class completed by presenting the team’s idea about the activity they participated in.

In this way, there were many classes where you could remember and understand what you learned more easily and interestingly by combining theory and activities. After the lectures, everyone filled out and submitted an evaluation sheet for the class they took. This program was beneficial because students could learn from each other.

Second-graders preparing for classes could increase their field experience by teaching others about what they are interested in. First-graders who took the lectures can gain fun knowledge by taking classes from their seniors. In addition, students who opened the class could receive honest feedback from the evaluation papers and grow in a better direction.

In the interview after the Anyone class, Lee Hyang Eun, a first-grade Chinese major said, “I learned about the characteristics of small businesses while taking the class. I also learned about management strategies and was helped by my own career. Also, with my friends, it was good to share opinions and get feedback from seniors. In particular, the seniors’ hosting skills made the class more fun.”

Jung Ye Eun, a first-grade French major, said, “There were many subjects, and it was amazing that I could choose among them and take classes. It was new and nice to have an opportunity to learn and experience school classes and other new things while listening to classes prepared by seniors. I feel thankful to them for preparing hard and hosting the class.”

Just like students who participated in the interview said, Anyone School helps students take a step forward toward their dreams, and so it is one of the most meaningful programs of SAWL. Some of the first-graders who took the class said they wanted to become a second-grader and open their classes. Sawlians are looking forward to seeing how many more diverse and innovative lectures will be offered next year.
